Artist is assembling sculpture out of bike parts
Under a slight drizzle and with the ocean as a backdrop, Petaluma artist Mark Grieve began assembly Thursday of an 18-foot welded sculpture of dozens of recycled bike parts, including some 400 wheel frames. Titled "Wheel Arch," the temporary art installation will form an arch over California Street Plaza in Ventura, outside the Crowne Plaza Beach Hotel and near the widely used Ventura Promenade. It will remain on display through "Bike to Work Week" in mid-May. (04/04) Read
